lyrics

Every year more and more celebrities die, leaving a void in the collective consciousness of the world, how will we as a society learn how to live, what to eat, what to wear, and how to treat each other without their guidance.

I'm too attached to the people on TV, I live my life through reality stars, I hope someday that can finally be me, the giant houses and the luxury cars.
I hate myself, I hate my dull life, I want to pretend that I am somebody else, the stars are my friends, I feel like I know them, they help me escape from my 9 to 5 hell.
I sell myself for likes on YouTube and Facebook, I hope to someday have my very own show.
How would I know, what to believe in, how would I know what kind of clothes I should wear, I hold them as gods, I even elect them, the meek cannot know the many crosses they bear.
I'd sell my family if it meant I'd be famous, I'd give up everything in life I hold dear.

"Did you hear that so and so died? Yeah, I'm really broken up about it. They were such an icon. I'm probably going to have to call in sick to work tomorrow. I need a day to come to terms with this."

The trips on private jets to see exotic lands, the adoration of a thousand screaming fans and when I'm loved by them I'll finally love myself, I'll leave my current life that's more a living hell, I'll see my name in lights before my dying day, and it'll wipe all of my loneliness away.
